Workout Secrets to Success
Getting and staying healthy can be challenging. Most of us struggle to just leave the couch. Here are 3 workout secrets for better results (#3 is VITAL).
1) BE CONSISTENT
This is by far the easiest, yet most difficult part of being healthy. The body starts to atrophy (lose muscle/strength) after only 48 hours of no stimulus. This means if we go longer than 2 days without exercising, we begin to lose progress. Life happens, we recognize that, but staying healthy and hitting our goals means fighting to do some form of exercise at least 3x/week.
2) SET REALISTIC GOALS
Speaking of goals, losing 70lbs is a fantastic one...eventually. Unfortunately, it's not going to happen overnight. Setting realistic short and long term goals is the best way to avoid feeling defeated and giving up. Goals should be: SMART.: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time Sensitive. 3) USE THE BUDDY SYSTEM
Life is easier with friends. We all need support. Exercise is no different. Find a friend to come with you to class. Call them, text them, club them over the head and drag them with you if that's what it takes. Having a buddy to share the journey with is vital to your (and their) success.
